Built
to Grow
More Than Cane
About Us
A workforce of
employees and growers across four markets
Vision Sugar is where
Africa’s sugar industry
builds its future –
grounded in people,
powered by discipline, and
grown for the continent.
Vision Sugar is an African-owned agribusiness built to grow more than cane. We connect people, economies and opportunities to deliver growth with purpose.
With operations in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana, we employ over 42,000 people, partner with thousands of growers, and power some of the region’s most trusted brands.
Our mandate is clear: build a group that is commercially strong, operationally disciplined and rooted in Africa’s future.
Vision Sugar is proud to carry forward the legacy of Tongaat Hulett Sugar, a heritage rooted in over a century of resilience, innovation, and growth. We honour the strengths of what we inherit, but our focus is forward – stabilising, modernising and scaling an African business that creates lasting value for its people.
Our Mission
To secure a more inclusive, resilient and competitive sugar industry in Africa.
Our Vision
To build a commercially strong, African-owned agribusiness that delivers lasting value from grower to market. We believe Africa can lead in the future of food and energy, and we are building the partnerships and systems to make it happen.
Vision Sugar is majority Africa-owned and led. Our leadership combines deep operational experience, patient capital, and a commitment to building resilient local economies. We are reimagining the sugar sector on Africa’s terms – with African leadership at the centre, driving growth, stability, and opportunity for generations to come.

Nauman Khan
Almoiz
Nauman Ahmed Khan is the founder of Almoiz Industries, a leading Pakistani manufacturer of sugar and its by-products, known for pioneering innovation in multi-crop processing, energy efficiency, and sustainable manufacturing. Under his leadership, Almoiz became the first company in the world to successfully produce sugar from both sugarcane and sugar beet using a diffuser-based extraction system, marking a major global milestone in operational flexibility and process integration.
Nauman played a central role in shaping Pakistan’s bagasse-based power policy, enabling sugar mills to supply renewable energy to the national grid. He led Almoiz’s early adoption of biomass cogeneration, demonstrating how agro-industrial waste can be converted into sustainable power while strengthening rural economies. He also oversaw the integration of sugar and steel operations to optimize energy use and create circular industrial systems, supported by the deployment of high-pressure boilers that significantly improved efficiency and reduced fuel consumption.
With over 23 years of leadership experience, Nauman has helped expand the Almoiz Group across sugar, power, beverages, and textiles. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs and PepsiCo in the United States and holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stanford University.
Beyond industry, he is an active angel investor, serves on education boards in Pakistan and the US, is a WEF Young Global Leader (Class of 2012), and a recipient of Pakistan’s Businessman of the Year award.
